We just returned from a fantastic weekend in Wichita with our daughter and son-in-law, Marc and Carrie Anderson. They drove from Texas and the two of us from South Dakota and met mid-way in Kansas for a great weekend! It was our "Fall Fling With the Kids" like we did a year ago this fall! If you have family living a long distance from you, we highly recommend planning a similar gathering mid-way with family!
When Marc and Carrie moved to Texas 3 years ago one of the most difficult things we discovered was that we didn't discuss the next visit we would have together. That made saying goodbye VERY difficult. So we have learned that when we see one another, we also plan our next trip or visit. The great thing about our gatherings with the Andersons, if that the four of us REALLY like one another and always enjoy our times together!
So we all met in Wichita on a Friday night the end of Oct. Andersons got there around 8:30 p.m. so they could check-in and check out the pool and hot tub. We arrived around 12:30 a.m. on Saturday morning! Here are some of the memories from our weekend! Hope you enjoy!

One of the things we did was to visit the Wichita Zoo! What a beautiful day and a fun time we had together! Here I am with my son-in-law Marco Polo! What a great guy! Great job Larry and Betty!!!!

Evie, Carrie and Marc enjoyed feeding the giraffes. Evie commented about what beautiful eyes they have. Don't worry, we were told we could feed them!

While at the Zoo, we ran into one of my relatives who was also visiting the Zoo!!!!! Carrie made an interesting comment about how similar we humans seemed to act like this guy! Scary!

Here is picture of one of our "relatives" catching a few rays on this beautiful day in Wichita!

Here is a guy at the zoo who was on "work release" I think. He must have been from the stripes on his uniform! What a tremendous artist God is!

Here is another relative who told us about the "All You Can Eat" Diet they have been on for the past 20 years. They don't think it is working!!!!! We asked him to give us his "best" side so he turned away from the camera!!!

This guy was headed for a date with his two women who were just "Lion" around when we took this picture!

It wouldn't have been a reunion without a trip to the Olive Garden. We just love those bread sticks and salad!

Carrie and her mom spent a good share of Saturday checking out craft stores and working on a few projects together. One of the things our talented and creative daughter did was to make a tutu for her niece Belle Hagey of Sioux City, IA. Marc just had to try it out! Wrong end Marc!!!!!
On the way home to SD, we stopped in Sioux City and spent a few minutes with our "Sioux City" kids, the Hageys! Here is Evie holding our "Intentional Granddaughter" (a Carrie term!) and our other daughter, Theresa. Belle is wearing the tutu Carrie made her. Carrie also found this great purse that T. REALLY enjoyed! Mr. Sean was at home but was watching us have fun when the picture was taken!UNTIL OUR 2010 WICHITA REUNION!!!!
THE END!!!
